Offpister, your idea really is like shooting fish in a barrel with 1 tweak; use the 'curve' tool instead of the freehand tool and make lots of clicks along the template curve yous're tracing. Gives a perfectly smooth sine wave. :cheers:

(I know this post represents a bit of a slow response to this thread just I was searching Google for a style to do this and this turned out to be the all-time answer.)

Another way is a piffling more circuitous simply quite quick and accurate enough, once you've got your head effectually it:

Create a horizontal row of boxes (2 x the number of periods you need). (Ctrl-Shift-Drag the first one to indistinguishable and align it).
Now use the Freeform tool to zigzag (45' angles) between the top and bottom of the bordering square corners, from left to right (create points on the top left corner and lesser right corner of the first, 3rd etc squares).
Zoom in and right with Edit Betoken, if you lot need to.
Edit the points of the freeform zigzag, converting them to straight points, starting in the middle and working outwards (you'll meet why pretty quickly!).
Correct the ones that didn't work properly past Ctrl-Shift dragging the handles the right altitude and parallel with the horizontal lines of the boxes.
Drag the new sinusoidal freeform shape off the row of boxes.
Delete the row of boxes - or move information technology off-slide in case yous need to brand corrections/adjustments later.

At present employ the Freeform tool to zigzag (45' angles) between the top and bottom of the bordering square corners, from left to right (create points on the top left corner and bottom right corner of the start, third etc squares).

Zoom in and right with Edit Signal, if you need to.

Edit the points of the freeform zigzag, converting them to directly points, starting in the middle and working outwards (y'all'll see why pretty apace!).

Right the ones that didn't work properly by Ctrl-Shift dragging the handles the correct altitude and parallel with the horizontal lines of the boxes.

Drag the new sinusoidal freeform shape off the row of boxes.

Delete the row of boxes - or move it off-slide in instance you demand to make corrections/adjustments later.
